Hope Walks staff member one of four named to first Fred Dietz Global Clubfoot Fellowship
Hope Walks is pleased to learn that one of its own has been named to the inaugural class of the prestigious Fred Dietz Global Clubfoot Fellowship. Esperance Uwizeye, Hope Walks? Regional Program Clinical Officer for Africa, will be joining with three others selected worldwide.
The four fellows are offered a two-week clinical placement in the United Kingdom, alternating one week in two hospitals, to improve clinical skills, ongoing learning and increasing a global network of clinical clubfoot champions.
The Global Clubfoot Initiative created the fellowship in honor of Fred Dietz, a leading doctor and clubfoot surgeon who made significant strides in advancing the Ponseti method of treatment for clubfoot.
Hope Walks is excited to have Esperance, our own Mama Ponseti, be a part of this Fellowship where she will be able to learn advanced skills using the Ponseti method of gentle foot manipulation and casting, and in turn share those skills with other Hope Walks physiotherapists.
