SUMMARY

The Development Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing the annual fundraising plan. Reporting to the President, the Development Manager will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, stewarding and soliciting individuals, foundations, corporations and churches to achieve revenue goals to enable Hope Walks to achieve its mission.  The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial attitude, be a self-starter, and be passionate about the mission of Hope Walks.  This is a full-time position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Create an annual development and marketing strategic plan to build a network of partners who will financially invest in the work of Hope Walks.

Identify and cultivate new sources of potential contributions and sponsorships, tracking data in the donor database and establishing a plan for engagement to secure investments.

Analyze all opportunities for funding partnerships (high-net worth individuals, corporate partnerships, capital campaigns, planned giving, matching gifts, etc.) and implement those that will provide the best return for the organization.  

Compassionately communicate the needs and serve as a representative of Hope Walks that conveys the mission and vision of the organization.

Develop and foster relationships with current and prospective partners in a way that builds meaningful, long term partnerships and expresses Hope Walks’ genuine desire to partner together.

Develop and manage a system for effective ongoing communication with current and prospective partners.

Prepare proposals and presentations to share the work of Hope Walks with partners.

Prepare reports to inform partners of the outcomes of their investments in the work of Hope Walks.

Work closely with the President to provide accurate revenue reports and forecasts that align with the needs of the organization.

Accompany partners on international trips to Hope Walks’ programs. (2 to 3 per year)

Build the capacity of Hope Walks’ board of directors, leadership, and current partners to effectively share the work of the organization and empower them to generate more partnerships.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, or Non-Profit Leadership

4+ years of fundraising, sales, grants management, or other relevant professional experience

Personal faith in Christ and commitment to the mission of Hope Walks

Demonstrated track record of successful fundraising and experience in cultivating and building partnerships

Exceptional written and oral communication skills – including the ability to clearly convey and incite passion

Strong organizational skills, time management, and strategic thinking

Excellent knowledge of common technology: Microsoft Office, Google Drive, Blackbaud

Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (up to 75 days per year)

Experience with an international compassion ministry preferred

Established connections with individuals of high worth or foundations
