SUMMARY

 

The Monitoring & Evaluation Coordinator will provide technical guidance on the collection of data, data reporting, and implementation of monitoring and evaluation activities in the country programs.  This position will work alongside the regional leadership teams to promote learning and capacity building in monitoring and evaluation, including developing and implementing standards, guidelines, and tools.  This full-time position will report to the Vice President of Operations and can be based at the Hope Walks US office in Dillsburg, PA or in one of Hope Walks’ country programs.  This position is contingent upon donor funding.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Lead Hope Walks’ initiatives to develop, manage, and operationalize monitoring and evaluation systems and tools.
  • Develop a comprehensive strategy to monitor clubfoot care at Hope Walks’ partner clinics and country programs’ activities through and collaborate with national and regional leadership teams to supervise the implementation of this strategy
  • Work with program staff to extract learnings from the data, reports, and analysis that can be applied to improve outcomes in-country programs.
  • Thoroughly review the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and ensure that the data collected is sufficient for accurately measuring each KPI.
  • Design and organize trainings and resources (in-person sessions, remote webinars, manuals, etc.) to build staff capacity on monitoring the data that is collected in their programs, evaluating data against KPIs, and how to recognize and implement learning opportunities.
  • Provide technical support to remote teams regarding data collection tools/devices and reporting software.  
  • Produce reports and analysis for the Hope Walks US team for purposes of marketing, communications, grants, donor relations, and reporting to the board.
  • Responsible for reviewing data at an organizational level to ensure accuracy and all reports maintain the highest level of integrity.
  • Create data visualizations and reports using software programs compatible with current data collection tools and databases.  
  • Perform routine audits of clinical and spiritual ministry data in collaboration with Regional Program Officers and provide findings with actionable learning opportunities back to the country programs.
  • Travel to Hope Walks’ country programs to conduct program monitoring, review data collection processes, and mentor staff in M&E activities.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant areas, such as Public Health, Data Science, International Relations, or healthcare-related field.  A Master’s Degree is preferred. 
  • Personal faith in Christ and commitment to the mission of Hope Walks.
  • Minimum five (5) years experience in a similar role with an international NGO. 
  • Previous experience working in developing countries required.
  • Demonstrated ability in data collection, management, and analysis
  • Analytical, problem solving, and strong communication skills in English; knowledge of other languages preferred (i.e. French, Amharic, Spanish).
  • Previous experience in the medical field and/or with a healthcare NGO preferred.
  • Advanced computer skills, especially in spreadsheets, word-processing programs, database development, statistical analysis software, and data visualizations. 
  • Excellent knowledge of common technology: Microsoft Office, Google Drive, Zoom
  • Ability to travel internationally 20-30% of the time.

SUMMARY

Acting in a strategic and visionary capacity, the Vice President, Programs will provide programmatic governance to national clubfoot programs globally to achieve organizational objectives.  This position will focus on managing, supporting and empowering the regional and national leadership to develop capacity to ensure quality outcomes medically and spiritually. The Vice President, Programs will report directly to and work closely with the President, and will supervise the team of Regional Managers who directly support the national clubfoot programs.  This position will be based at the Hope Walks US office in Dillsburg, PA (preferred) or in Africa.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Strategic and Operational Leadership 

  1. Develop and support the programmatic vision, plan and goals in accordance with the established organizational mission and vision.   
  2. Develop and implement new program initiatives in cooperation with regional program leadership and at times provide direct oversight of larger or more complex programs and start ups to achieve strategic and operational goals of the organization.
  3. Support recruitment, selection, performance appraisal and professional development of all program staff to fulfill their respective responsibilities and reach their full potential. 
  4. Provide oversight and coordination of the annual budget process, implementing sound financial management systems, and ensuring appropriate utilization of resources and accountability in accordance with the approved fiscal year budget. 
  5. Work collaboratively with the Hope Walks grants, development and communication staff to ensure that expected outcomes are achieved and resources needed for reporting are received in a timely manner.  
  6. Develop the exploration and expansion of international partnerships to capitalize on potential programmatic and funding opportunities toward sustainable programs.   
  7. Ensure and support compliance with all in-country laws, government and organizational policies and procedures.
  8. Promote a culture of continuous quality improvement in all programs, ensuring a comprehensive system for monitoring, evaluation and implementation of learnings.
  9. Support and empower an outcomes-focused culture, ensuring appropriate outcomes are measured for children treated, parental satisfaction and spiritual ministry. 

Missional Leadership

  1. Ensure the Hope Walks’ Spiritual Ministry Model is appropriately implemented, monitored and outcomes reported.
  2. Support regional leadership in the development and implementation of spiritual ministry training, mentoring, resources and tools appropriate to local context. 
  3. Actively monitor emerging evidence pertaining to holistic care and promote the translation of evidence into ministry practice in low and middle-income countries.

Clinical Leadership

  1. Support the implementation of evidence-based models of care and practice guidelines that consider barriers and solutions to implementation in low and middle-income countries.
  2. Support regional leadership in the development and implementation of clinical training, mentoring programs, resources and tools appropriate to local context in collaboration with international partners as appropriate. 
  3. Actively monitor emerging evidence pertaining to clubfoot treatment and promote the translation of evidence into clinical practice.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree (Masters degree preferred) in a relevant area, such as International Development, Public Health, Health Administration, International Relations or International Business. 
  • Minimum ten (10) years international leadership experience, preferably with an NGO providing healthcare services.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English; and at least one relevant foreign language preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in culturally, politically and economically diverse contexts.
  • Personal faith in Christ and commitment to the mission of Hope Walks. 
  • Demonstrated ability to form high functioning teams and partnerships, including excellent interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills.
